Weekly wrap up & Meet results

Good Afternoon Swim Families!

What an exciting morning we had, it was an absolute battle till the end and with a bit of scrambling and luck we pulled out a win against the Accokeek Gator!

Indian Head 277
Accokeek Gators 272

We had some awesome swims this weekend and so many best times! A few event highlights Taylor Wilson swam an amazing Butterfly and stepped in to fill a relay slot, and had the most amazing positive attitude. Eli Flade who had a smile on his face the whole day and gave out “free high-fives” and a kind world to anyone around. Sebastian Webb, who at only 4 years old probably would have jumped in for every single event if we let him. We also had a brand-new young lady Trinity Treadway who not only sounded absolutely amazing singing the national anthem, but after only a few short days as an official Torpedo showed up and rocked her 100m freestyle today! There were so many other great races and memorable moments this weekend!

Congratulations to our first place winners below:

This week's “Swimmers of the Meet” were Lucas Reynolds and Harper Lucas – they are both unstable forces who work hard, have a positive attitude, do whatever is asked of them and support their teammates! Thank you for all your hard work!

Great Job Torpedoes!!!

Results for Week 2 (they have also been uploaded to swimtopia)

Ribbons will be available at practice this week.
THIS WEEK is the Foster’s Grille Dine and Donate Fundraiser.  Here is the flier Foster's Dine and Donate

Last note- this week we were missing nearly 25 swimmers, I understand there are other obligations and commitments but as a coach it is very challenging to plan a meet with so many absent swimmers, we would have won this meet in a total washout if we had our full roster.
Last, PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THE POOL BEFORE THE END OF THE MEET. Today we were put in a position where we were scrambling to put together relays because swimmers had left prior to the end of the meet. We also had team pictures today and many swimmers were missing. If you have an absolute reason you need to leave before the meet concludes make sure you speak to me before leaving. Relays are one of the biggest point earners for the entire meet and when we have to scratch a team it puts us in a very bad position.
Thank you!

Coach Mel
