IHST will be hosting the Waves of Westlake on Saturday in our second and final home meet of the season!

Date: 8 July 2023.

Location: Lackey HS Pool.

Important Times:

0700: Arrive

0730 - 0750: Warm-Ups - IHST

0800 - 0820: Warm-Ups - WOW

0800 - Officials'/Timers' Meetings

0825: Anthem

0830: Meet Start

1200: Meet Concludes

Today’s Action Items:

Do these 3 things in SwimTopia by noon Wednesday, please:

1. Declare whether your swimmer(s) will be participating in Saturday’s meet.

2. Pick which volunteer job(s) your family member(s) will fill at the meet.

3. Indicate what item(s) you would like to donate to concessions.

Home meets are an all-hands-on-deck situation. We have 41 jobs to fill, twice as many as for away meets. We ask that every family provide at least one volunteer. If your family has not yet volunteered, now is when we really need you!

If you have a “standing” meet job, as several of you do, we ask that you please put yourself down for it in SwimTopia anyway, so we can be sure we’re all on the same sheet of music going into the meet.

The Jobs SignUp contains the concessions donations signup, so you can do both in the same place.

Know Before You Go:

Arrive on time: we want to host an outstanding, on-time, smooth running meet!

Spectators will all sit in the mezzanine; wet swimmers are not permitted there.

WOW swimmers will assemble on the right/front bleachers.

IHST swimmers will assemble on the left/back bleachers.

Swimmers are expected to remain on the bleachers for the duration of the meet.

If you wish to set up a canopy and chairs on the back patio, you may.

IH will offer concessions for purchase. Cash only.

Swimmers: upon arrival check in with Coach to get your race assignments.

Volunteers: check in with Leigh Sylvain, Meet Manager, about your meet job.

We will conduct a Guppy Race during the break. If you have little swimmers who are not yet on the team, who would like to swim one length of the pool, bring a suit for them!

Families are expected to stay until the end of the meet (unless you have coordinated with the Coach) as the Coach doesn’t decide who will swim the final relays until the end of the meet.

Additional Notes:

Thank you to all of you who donated ALL of the items we requested for concessions last week! They enabled us to earn $592.50 on Saturday. We ask for your continued support this coming week, which is our final home meet and our last opportunity to run concessions for the season. If we match last Saturday’s sales, we’ll top a grand in profit for the team!

Kim will continue to have caps for sale at morning practice and Trish will have them at meets. Find them if you need a new cap. $10 cash.

Friday Night Set-Up: please stay on Friday night to help set up for Saturday’s meet.
