Hello Torpedoes Families,

We will be competing in the Charles County Championships (CCC) on Sunday, July 16, 2023.

DeAnna Treadway, our Data Manager, and I will be attending the “seed meeting” on Sunday, July 9, 2023.

Coach Mel needs to seed the meet (determine who’s swimming what) by Saturday evening, July 8^th, after we swim against WOW.

Therefore, we ask that you please declare whether your swimmer will be available by tonight.

Note: not all swimmers will swim in the CCC. In general, our top 2 swimmers in each race will swim with additional swimmers filling in open lanes.

On Sunday, I will need to provide our host team, the Hawthorn Country Club, with our volunteers to man the meet. There is a list of volunteers each team must provide and a second list of volunteers each team may provide, if they wish.

I have posted the job sign up for CCC on SwimTopia. There, I have indicated which jobs are mandatory fills for our team and which ones are optional. If you sign up for one of the mandatory jobs, you will fill that job during the CCC. If you sign up for one of the optional jobs, the person/team who actually fills the slots will be decided at the seed meeting. Those slots will be distributed among all the Charles County teams. I will let you know whether you actually got assigned that slot after the seed meeting.

At championship meets, we would like to provide our experienced officials for each role. That’s who we are asking to sign up here.

Also note that these are whole-meet roles, rather than first half/second half roles, like we often do.

Please fill all our team’s mandatory-fill roles by 8pm Saturday so I can submit them to HCC on Sunday.
