Hello Torpedo Families--

Some of us will be swimming in the Charles County Championships, as shown on the entries list that Coach Mel will forward separately.

Date: Sunday, July 16, 2023.

Location: Hawthorn Country Club 8760 Hawthorn Rd. LaPlata, MD 20646

Important Times:

Arrive: 0700 (not before)

Warmups: 0730 – 0745 (IHST and HCC)

Aging Out Ceremony: 0820

National Anthem: 0830

Start: 0835

Know Before You Go:

Arrive on time. Please comply with the direction of the parking attendants as parking is tight at HCC. There will be two golf carts to ferry up people who have to park at the bottom of the hill, if needed. You may drop off people and gear at the gate and then park.

Bring shade and chairs for your family.

IHST families will set up to the right of the pool as you enter, in the farthest-

back third of that space. (Bannister will set up on the right, nearest the gate. Smallwood in the middle, then us in the rear third. The tennis/pickleball courts will also be open. You may set up there if you would prefer a non-grassy, non-hilly place.

Swimmers: upon arrival check in with Coach to get your race assignments.

Volunteers: check in with Leigh Sylvain, Meet Manager, about your meet job.

The Clerk of Course will not come looking for swimmers. The race will proceed without you if you are not there. So, be mindful of your race numbers and listen up for our Team Marshall who will make sure you get to CoC.

Parents are not permitted on the deck. No flash photography after meet start.

Families are expected to stay until the end of the meet (unless you have coordinated with the Coach in advance.

Hawthorn will offer concessions for purchase. All pmt methods accepted.

There will be additional portable restrooms by the tennis courts.

Championship programs will be available for purchase for $5.

At the break, there will be One Last Swim for Aging Out swimmers.

Prior to departure, please help ensure we leave our team area clean.

The baby pool and playground are closed during the meet.

The link to purchase CCC apparel is active now for pre-purchase. At the meet, a limited number of t-shirts (only) will be available for purchase.

Officials & Volunteers: Those of you who signed up for positions it is mandatory for each team to fill will fill them. Those who signed up for optional-fill positions got them and will fill them also. They are:
